depends on your set up. An example is me. I'm downsizing my pipes when I install my turbos. I need more pressure pre turbo and a bigger difference on the in and out of the turbine. Thats so my rear mount can spool. To generalize a size for a motor without knowing the set up and any possible future plans is just throwing numbers at the wind.

lol... I have 2.5" now

i will have 2" when the turbo comes. look at the STS turbo site for the basics. My car is pretty rarely modded to the level I am taking it.

I've seen setups like that but never in real life, hopefully i can check it out this summer...

and thats the best part of modding cars, taking it to that next level..

im upping the size of my exhaust right now to 3" in preparation for turbo too, might end up running 2 mufflers to keep it on the quiet side

yea man, a few turbo rsx's run 2 mufflers to keep the sound down, straight through design minimizes power loss but it definitely helps keep the sound down and gives it a nice deep tone, not that loud annoying bean can sound

yeah buts it not needed with a rear mount set up. The turbo is a muffler. When installed on cars like mine anyway, they sound like magnaflows on a GT
